We live in a chaotic world, where every action has impredictable consequences, because live, and social relations, are dynamic systems. The only certain is that no action would give no results.
If we look to this problem as a state space tree, we can believe that there are some few actions that would accomplish the objective - finding Maddie -, but the majority of them would lead nowhere. So, in this context, scale may be a decisive factor - if we can gather enough contributions, perhaps one would trigger the proper sequence of events that result in finding Maddie.
